Crafting Yellow Burst Firework Stars
Yellow burst firework stars are a key ingredient for making fireworks that explode in a bright yellow burst pattern. The color and explosion type come entirely from the firework star itself, so if you want yellow bursts, you need to craft the right star first.
This tutorial covers the basic recipe and how to add special effects to make your fireworks even cooler.
What You Need
To craft a single yellow burst firework star, gather these materials:
- 1 Gunpowder
- 1 Feather
- 1 Yellow Dye
That’s it. Three items, one star.
How to Craft It
Open a crafting table to bring up the 3×3 crafting grid. Place your materials in the first row like this:
- Gunpowder in the first slot
- Feather in the second slot
- Yellow Dye in the third slot
The exact placement matters. Put all three items in that first row, and the firework star appears on the right side. Grab it and throw it in your inventory.
When you hover over the finished star in your inventory, you’ll see it labeled as a yellow burst type firework star.
Using Your Firework Star
Yellow burst firework stars go into firework rockets. Combine your star with gunpowder and paper to make a rocket. When you shoot it, you’ll get a yellow explosion in a burst pattern.
Adding Special Effects
You can throw extra items into the crafting grid with your core materials to add special effects:
- Glowstone Dust – adds a twinkle effect that makes the fireworks flicker
- Diamond – adds a trail effect that leaves a streak behind the colors as they burst
Just toss them in with the gunpowder, feather, and dye. They don’t need to be in specific slots, just anywhere in the grid.
Works in All Versions
This crafting recipe works in every version of Minecraft from the Nether Update onward. The recipe doesn’t change between versions, so whatever version you’re playing, the process is the same.
