Working Sponges Mod

This mod brings actual sponges into Minecraft. The original concept comes from andr3wrulz, but this is a complete rewrite with better multiplayer support and smarter mechanics. Unpowered sponges work just like the original, but the powered versions are the real deal now. Everything works perfectly in single-player and multiplayer, and sponges only put back what they take in.

What’s Included

NewSponge

Sucks up water. Craft it with black wool in the center surrounded by the other materials. Power it with redstone for remote control or just place it next to water and it gets to work.

Obsidian Sponge

For lava. Same crafting concept, just swap the wool for obsidian. Powers up with redstone for on-demand control.

Dual Sponge

Sucks water, lava, and obsidian blocks all at once. The ultimate multi-purpose sponge. Powers up like the others.

Mining Sponge

The actual game-changer. Tired of dragging useless cobble, dirt, and gravel back to base? This sponge absorbs those blocks while you mine, keeping your inventory clean. No more sorting junk. Mine the good stuff, leave the trash behind.

Crafting Recipes

We recommend installing Just Enough Items (Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (Fabric) to see all the recipes. Much easier than trying to remember them all.

How to Install

1. Download and install Minecraft Forge for your version.
2. Download the mod file below.
3. Open your .minecraft folder and go to the mods folder. Create one if it doesn’t exist.
4. Drag and drop the downloaded jar file into the mods folder.
5. Launch Minecraft and enjoy.

Multiplayer Ready
