Waifucraft is a Minecraft mod that lets you recruit 28 different anime characters as companions. Each one has their own personality, combat abilities, and preferences. Some heal you in a pinch, others deal massive damage, and a few just do weird stuff that makes them fun to keep around.
What’s Included
The mod gives you a bunch of new items, equipment, and mechanics to unlock as you build relationships with each character.
Core Taming Items
- Book of Love – Shows all available characters, what they like, and what they hate. You summon characters from here (costs 5 XP per summon).
- Waifu Ring – Tames a character once you’ve built up enough affection. Costs a diamond and 4 gold nuggets.
- Waifu Wand – Teleports your companions to you, changes their skins, or removes them from the world.
- Totem of Waifu – Stores a tamed companion in your inventory so you always have backup.
- Potion of Love – Makes a character instantly fall for you (skip the grinding).
- Creative Ring – Instant-tames anyone. Creative mode only.
Character-Specific Gear
When you tame certain characters, they give you special equipment:
- Taiga gives you her Bokken (a solid sword)
- Nami gives you a Straw Hat
- Megumin’s Hat causes explosions on critical hits (25% chance)
- Megumin’s Staff lets you cast explosions where you’re looking
- Marin’s Flame Shirt gives Speed I
- GLaDOS gives you a Companion Cube
- Miku gives you a Microphone (makes mobs dance)
- Super Crown transforms turtles into Bowsette and ghasts into Boosette
Food and Consumables
- Bubbly – A drink for Aqua that gives status effects. Made with poisonous potatoes and weakness potions.
- Miso Soup – Works like milk to clear potion effects.
- Grilled Lamprey – Gives night vision.
- Cocoacat Cupcake – Stacking health boost, caps at 20 hearts.
- Natsuki’s Cupcakes – Special snacks that unlock new recipes.
The Characters
There are 28 characters total, each with unique abilities and quirks. Here’s the breakdown:
The Heavy Hitters
- Megumin – Blows up mobs instead of just killing them. You can craft her staff to do the same.
- Taiga – Stacks Strength after each kill, getting stronger as the fight goes on. Gives you her sword when tamed.
- Yuno – Naturally aggressive. Hits hard and fast.
- Kaguya – Shoots arrows at enemies.
- Zelda – Shoots arrows that make mobs glow so you can track them.
- Mystia – Shoots projectiles and sings during combat. Has a shop skin for discounts when she’s your companion.
- Bowsette – Burns defeated mobs.
The Support Squad
- Aqua – Heals you when you right-click her if you’re hurt. Uses reflect and turn undead spells. Her blessing brings you back to life if you die while you have it. Moody if not tamed.
- Hinata – Uses her Byakugan to make nearby mobs glow after kills, letting you see through walls.
- Velvet – Restores health after each kill. Sneezes around cats (great for finding them).
- Tohru – Gives you roasted tail meat every so often.
- Darkness – Tank character. Super durable but doesn’t deal much damage.
The Weird Ones
- Monika – Trades enchanted books for XP. Doesn’t react well to being reset.
- Yuri – Can be turned into Yandere Yuri by giving her totem to Monika.
- Nami – Avoids spiders. Gives you a Straw Hat when tamed.
- Sayori – Follows anyone holding cookies and eats them when given.
- Suu – Changes size based on what she likes/dislikes. Weak to water and nether blocks.
- GLaDOS – Poisons targets. Has voice lines when she’s in item form. Avoids birds.
- Rem, Ram, Zero Two, Asuna, Nezuko, Miku, Padoru – Each with their own special behaviors and quirks.
How to Tame Your First Character
The taming system is pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it:
Step 1: Make the Book of Love
Craft a regular book and surround it with 4 poppies. This book is your main guide.
Step 2: Summon Someone
Open the Book of Love and pick a character to summon (costs 5 XP). You can summon 5 times per book before it breaks.
Step 3: Give Gifts They Like
Right-click to talk to them. The Book shows what items they like and dislike. Give them things they like to raise affection. Give them things they hate to lower it.
Step 4: Get to Affection Level 5
Once they like you (affection 5+), their dialogue changes. You can now give them head pats, which heals them.
Step 5: Tame at Affection 9
Craft a Waifu Ring (diamond + 4 gold nuggets in a specific pattern) and right-click with it. They’re now yours and will follow you around.
Step 6: Keep Them Safe
Right-click a Waifu Ring on a tamed character to store them in a Totem. Use the Totem to summon them later. Use the Waifu Wand to teleport them to you, change skins, or remove them.
