Vegan Option Mod 1.7.10 replaces all animal-based drops and crafting materials with plant-based alternatives. The mod does exactly what it sounds like: if you want to play Minecraft without using anything from mobs or animals, this mod has you covered.
What You Get
The mod swaps out these items for vegan-friendly versions:
- Bone becomes Fossils
- Bone Meal becomes Fertilizer or White Vegetable Oil Ink depending on what you’re crafting
- Milk becomes Plant Milk
- Leather becomes Burlap, with full Burlap Armor sets
- Wool becomes Kapok blocks
- String becomes Jute Fiber or Kapok Tufts
- Slimeballs become Resin
- Ink Sacs become Black Vegetable Oil Ink
- Feathers become Faux Feathers
- Eggs can be Plastic Eggs, or Potato Starch/Apple Sauce for baking
- Spider Eyes become False Morels or Doll’s Eyes

- Blaze Rods crafted from Plastic Rod, Rosin, Vegetable Wax, and Flint & Steel
- Pufferfish becomes Frozen Bubble
- Ender Pearls become Frozen Bubble plus Raw Ender
- Rotten Flesh becomes Rotten Plants
- Gunpowder crafted from Charcoal, Sulfur, and Saltpeter
- Mob Heads become Blank Mob Heads you can dye
For meat and fish as food, the mod recommends using HarvestCraft’s tofu. Some items like Nether Stars and Dragon Eggs don’t have alternatives yet.
Extra Features
The mod includes custom crafting blocks and methods, along with custom NEI handlers. Nothing new gets added to world generation or crops, so it plays well with other mods.
