The Salt Mod adds a whole new mechanic around salt to Minecraft. Mine Rock Salt ore from underground, grow salt crystals, and season your food to improve its flavor and nutrition. It’s a simple concept that actually changes how you think about food preparation in survival mode.
Features
Mining and Obtaining Salt
Rock Salt ore generates underground in dripstone caves, ocean biomes, and beaches. When you break it with any pickaxe, you get Raw Rock Salt. It’s a straightforward way to get started with salt crafting.
Alternative Ways to Get Salt
Mining isn’t the only option. You can evaporate water in a cauldron to produce salt, or grow your own salt crystals. More options means more playstyles.
Realistic Salt Behavior
Salt blocks react to water, ice, and snow the way you’d expect. Place salt next to ice and watch it melt. Drop salt in water and watch it dissolve. You can even use salt to melt ice and snow blocks yourself. It’s a small detail that makes the world feel more interactive.
