The Lost Cities mod replaces your entire overworld with a massive, half-destroyed city. Streets, towers, bridges, underground tunnels, all of it procedurally generated across the whole world. No forests, no plains. Just ruins as far as you can render.
When you create a new world, pick “Lost Cities” as the world type. You spawn in the middle of the wreckage and go from there. It’s a genuinely different survival experience and one of the better world gen mods out there.
What You Get
The city generates over every biome, so you’ll find towers rising out of frozen tundra, bridges over deserts, and craters where something clearly went wrong. Buildings have multiple floors, streets connect everything, and there are underground sections to explore too.
Key Features
- Full overworld replacement with a procedurally generated abandoned city
- Bridges, multi-floor buildings, streets, and underground passages
- Highly configurable, you can add custom building structures and use blocks from other mods
- Server-side only mode, vanilla clients can connect without installing anything
Requirements
You need Minecraft Forge installed. Some older versions also require CompatLayer.
How to Install
