Do I need the resource pack or just the data pack?

Where does the Glowing Atlas structure spawn?

It spawns on the floor of deep ocean biomes. It glows, so swimming around at depth you should be able to spot it without too much trouble.

How hard are the Copper Fish to fight?

Pretty dangerous if you're not prepared. They swarm, so one turns into five very quickly. Bring water breathing potions and decent armor before picking a fight near the altar.

What is the Storm music disc and how do I get it?

Storm is a new music disc added by this data pack. It's hidden underneath the Glowing Atlas altar. Kill the Copper Fish guarding it and dig it out.

Does this work with other data packs?

Generally yes, as long as the other packs don't make heavy changes to ocean biomes or deep ocean structure generation. There's no known major conflict, but results can vary depending on your pack combination.

The ocean in vanilla Minecraft is huge and mostly pointless. The Glowing Atlas data pack changes that by adding a small glowing altar to deep ocean biomes, guarded by a new hostile mob and hiding a brand new music disc. It’s a focused addition that actually makes the deep sea worth exploring.

What This Data Pack Adds

The Glowing Atlas Structure

A small altar that spawns on the ocean floor in deep ocean biomes. It glows, so it’s not too hard to spot if you’re swimming around at depth. The structure itself is modest in size but serves as the centerpiece for everything else this pack adds.

Copper Fish (New Hostile Mob)

These things are nasty. Copper Fish guard the altar and they don’t come at you one at a time. They swarm. A solo player who swims in without a plan will get shredded fast. You’ll want decent armor and probably some water breathing potions before picking a fight here.

Storm Music Disc

Underneath the altar is the real reward: a new music disc called “Storm.” If you’re a disc collector this is actually worth the trip. Clear out the Copper Fish, grab the disc, done.

Important: Resource Pack Required

This data pack requires the matching resource pack to work correctly. You need to install both files. Installing just the data pack will not give you the visuals for the new mob or structure.

How to Install

Download both the data pack and the resource pack files below.
Open Minecraft and load (or create) a world.
For the data pack: go to Edit World > Open World Folder, then place the .zip file in the datapacks folder inside your world folder.
For the resource pack: place the resource pack .zip in your .minecraft/resourcepacks folder, then enable it in Options > Resource Packs.
Run /reload in-game if your world was already open.
