System Hydra Addon adds a 3-headed Hydra boss to Minecraft Bedrock. It’s a tough fight that’ll test your gear and survival skills. Defeat it and you’ll get access to some seriously powerful tools and armor.
Hydra Boss Details
The addon introduces 4 different Hydra variants, each with their own spawn location and attack style. They’re not pushovers, so come prepared.
The Four Hydra Types
- Poison Hydra – Spawns in swamps. Dishes out poison effects.
- Electric Hydra – Shows up in plains biomes. Hits you with electrical damage.
- Fire Hydra – The rare one that only appears in the Nether. Uses fire-based attacks.
- Ice Hydra – Found only in cold biomes. Slows you down with ice.
Combat Attacks
The Hydra has four main attack types. Knowing what’s coming helps you survive.
Melee Attack
The most common attack. The Hydra can swing with one head, two heads, or all three at once. Three heads hitting you at the same time hits hard. Really hard.
Ranged Attack
When you’re far enough away, the Hydra shoots projectiles at you. The projectile carries a negative effect matching the Hydra type. Different heads can shoot from different angles.
Stomp Attack
After taking enough hits, the Hydra will rear up and stomp the ground. This launches you high into the air. Fall damage is brutal. Bring a Feather Falling enchanted item if you can.
Roar Attack
The Hydra’s powerful roar sends you flying backwards and down. You’ll take solid fall damage from this one too.
Hydra Drops and Crafting
Hydra Scales
Killing a Hydra gives you an 80% chance to get one of its scales. The color varies by Hydra type. You’ll need these scales for crafting better gear.
Hydra Pickaxe
Craft pickaxes from Hydra scales. Each type of scale makes a pickaxe with different properties, matching the Hydra variant you defeated.
Hydra Swords
Make swords from the scales. Each sword type has unique abilities depending on which Hydra scale you use. They come in 3 durability levels, so the better ones need more scales to craft.
Hydra Armor Sets
Craft full armor sets from scales. The armor is tougher than diamond armor and has way more durability. When you wear the complete set, you get a special effect that matches the Hydra type. Poison armor gives poison resistance, fire armor gives fire resistance, and so on.
Death Animation
When you finally take down a Hydra, it plays a death animation before disappearing and dropping its loot. Looks way cooler than just vanishing.
Installation
Drop the files into Minecraft and activate them in your world settings. One important thing: turn on Experimental Gameplay in your world. The addon doesn’t use player.json, so it plays nice with other addons. You can even load it last if you want.
