Mule Spawn Events Guide for Bedrock Edition

Learn how to use spawn events to summon mules with specific properties in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Works on PE, Win10, Xbox, PS4, and Switch.

Mule Spawn Events in Minecraft Bedrock

If you’re working with mules in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, spawn events let you summon them with specific properties already applied. You can make them saddled, give them chests, or spawn them as babies. It’s all done with a single command.

This guide covers every spawn event available for mules in Bedrock Edition on PE, Win10, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

What Are Spawn Events?

Spawn events are built-in commands that let you trigger specific states when an entity spawns. For mules, you can use the /summon and /event commands to apply them.

When you use a spawn event, you’re basically telling Minecraft to create the mule with that property already active. Instead of summoning a plain mule and then saddling it, you can do it all at once.

Mule Spawn Events List

Here are all the spawn events you can use with mules in Bedrock Edition:

Spawn Event ID What It Does Added In
minecraft:entity_born Spawns a baby mule 1.12.0
minecraft:entity_spawned Standard spawn event 1.12.0
minecraft:ageable_grow_up Mule grows into an adult 1.12.0
minecraft:on_tame Mule is tamed 1.12.0
minecraft:mule_saddled Mule spawns with a saddle 1.12.0
minecraft:mule_unsaddled Mule has no saddle 1.12.0
minecraft:on_chest Mule is wearing a chest 1.12.0

How to Use Them

The spawn event goes at the end of your /summon command. Here’s the basic format:

/summon mule [x] [y] [z] [spawn_event]

Replace [x] [y] [z] with coordinates, or use ~ ~ ~ to spawn at your current location.

Example Commands

Summon a Baby Mule

/summon mule ~ ~ ~ minecraft:entity_born

Summon a Saddled Mule

/summon mule ~ ~ ~ minecraft:mule_saddled

Summon a Tamed Mule

/summon mule ~ ~ ~ minecraft:on_tame

Summon a Mule with a Chest

/summon mule ~ ~ ~ minecraft:on_chest

Tips

  • You can only use one spawn event per summon command. If you need multiple properties, you’ll need to use separate commands or NBT tags.
  • Spawn events work the same way on all Bedrock platforms: Pocket Edition, Windows 10, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
  • Use command blocks to automate this for adventure maps or custom worlds.
  • The /event command can also trigger spawn events on existing mules using their selectors.
