What Minecraft version does Skybounds Parkour Map work on?

It's built for Minecraft 1.12.2 and 1.12. Don't load it on other versions or you'll likely run into broken sections and missing blocks.

How many checkpoints are there?

There are 18 checkpoints spread across the 8 islands. The map is long, so you'll want to hit every one before attempting harder sections.

Do I need any mods to play this map?

No mods needed. Just install it on vanilla Minecraft 1.12.2 and it works out of the box.

Can I play this map with friends on a server?

Yes. Upload the map folder to your server's world directory and set it as the active world. Multiple players can run it at the same time.

Why do I need to set Render Distance to 12?

The islands are spread out. A low render distance means later islands won't load in until you're right on top of them, which can cause jumps to look broken or incomplete.

Skybounds Parkour Map was made by DJHitchcock for the Parkour Build Competition on the Skybounds server in May 2017. It’s got 8 themed islands, 18 checkpoints, and a huge variety of jump types. If you’re looking for a parkour map that’s actually going to test you, this is one of the good ones.

Map Overview

The course starts on a cloud island and moves through 8 major themed islands:

First Islands
Magic Islands
Monster Island
Ice Islands
Robot Islands
Nice Islands
Ancient Islands
Cartoon Islands

Each island looks and plays differently. Across the full course there are 18 checkpoints and hundreds of jumps: 4-block jumps, head hitters, corner jumps, ladder jumps, one-block jumps, and more. This map is long. Take breaks if you need to.

Before You Start

Only play on Minecraft 1.12.2 or 1.12. Other versions will break things.
Set Render Distance to 12 or higher so the islands load in correctly.

How to Install

Download the map file using the link below.
Extract the folder if it’s zipped.
Move the extracted folder into your .minecraft/saves directory.
Open Minecraft 1.12.2, go to Singleplayer, and the map will appear in your world list.
