About Scorge Mod
Scorge is a Forge language loader that brings Scala support to Minecraft mod development. If you’re a Scala developer or prefer Scala’s syntax for mod making, Scorge lets you write Forge mods in Scala instead of Java. It handles the heavy lifting of integrating Scala into the Forge ecosystem.
What Does Scorge Do?
Scorge acts as a language adapter for Forge. It loads Scala libraries and runtime into your mods, giving you access to Scala’s functional programming features and cleaner syntax when working with Forge. The mod maintains a curated set of supported Scala libraries.
Adding or Removing Libraries
If you want Scorge to support a new Scala library, it needs to be built for Scala and you need a solid technical reason why it should be in Scorge instead of bundled with your own mod. Same rule applies to dropping libraries: it only happens during Minecraft version switches to keep backwards compatibility intact, and you need a good reason.
Requirements
Scorge requires Minecraft Forge for your Minecraft version.
