Do I need Rubidium installed for Rubidium Options to work?

Yes. Rubidium Options is an addon for Rubidium, not a standalone mod. You need Rubidium installed first, along with Minecraft Forge. It won't do anything without it.

What's the difference between Rubidium Options and Sodium Options?

They do the same thing. Sodium Options works with Sodium on Fabric. Rubidium Options works with Rubidium on Forge. Use whichever matches your mod loader.

Will Rubidium Options affect my performance?

No. It only changes the video settings menu UI. It doesn't touch the renderer, so there's no performance impact either way.

Can I use Rubidium Options with OptiFine?

No. Rubidium and OptiFine conflict with each other, so you can't run both at once. Rubidium is meant as a Forge-based alternative to OptiFine.

Does this work with other Forge mods?

Generally yes. It's a UI-only mod and doesn't touch gameplay systems, so conflicts are rare. Just make sure Rubidium itself is working correctly first.

Rubidium Options is an unofficial fork of Sodium Options, built to work with Minecraft Forge. If you’re running Rubidium and want a proper video settings menu for all its rendering controls, this is it. Same functionality as Sodium Options, just for the Forge side.

What Rubidium Options Does

The default Minecraft video settings screen doesn’t expose most of Rubidium’s rendering controls. Rubidium Options fixes that by replacing the settings menu with a cleaner interface that actually shows everything. Sliders, toggles, all the graphics settings you’d expect in one place.

It’s a small mod but genuinely useful if you’re trying to tune performance. Without it, a lot of Rubidium’s options are either buried or just unreachable through the normal menu.

How to Install

Install Minecraft Forge for your Minecraft version.
Download Rubidium and place it in your .minecraft/mods folder.

Go to Options > Video Settings to see the new menu.
