A rabbit’s foot is a rare item you can’t craft in Minecraft. You get it by killing rabbits, and the main reason to want one is for brewing the Potion of Leaping. Not every rabbit will drop one, so you’ll probably need to kill a few before you find it.
Where to Find Rabbits
Rabbits spawn naturally in several biomes. The color of the rabbit varies by biome, but the drops are the same regardless of which one you hunt.

How to Get a Rabbit’s Foot in Survival Mode
There’s no crafting recipe for this one. The only way to get it is as a random drop from killing a rabbit.
1. Find a Rabbit
Head to any of the biomes listed above and look for a rabbit. They’re small and fast, so keep your eyes open. Once you spot one, get close before it bolts.
2. Attack and Kill the Rabbit
Hit the rabbit until it dies. It will turn pink as it takes damage. Keep chasing it down and finish it off.
Tip: Rabbits can hop straight over fences when they’re fleeing, so don’t expect a fence to trap one.
When the rabbit dies, it can drop raw rabbit, rabbit hide, or a rabbit’s foot. The foot is not guaranteed every kill. If you don’t get one, find another rabbit and try again.
Tip: Rabbit’s foot has a low base drop rate. Enchanting your sword with Looting III raises your chances significantly. Always use a Looting III sword when farming for rabbit’s foot if you want to save yourself time.
3. Pick Up the Rabbit’s Foot
Grab any items that dropped before they despawn. The rabbit’s foot will go into your inventory and you can take it to a brewing stand when you’re ready.
