PEYN Shader is a deferred PBR pack for Minecraft Bedrock 1.20 that actually targets low-end hardware. Most PBR shaders demand a beefy phone or PC. This one is specifically built for budget and mid-range devices, so you get proper lighting and shadows without the slideshow.
What PEYN Shader Does
It taps into Minecraft’s Deferred Technical Preview to deliver physically-based rendering, which means accurate shadows, realistic lighting that reacts to time of day, and better overall atmosphere. The non-PBR version is available now and keeps performance in check. A full PBR version is coming later.
Minimum Requirements
- Minecraft Bedrock 1.20.30 or newer
- 2 to 3 GB of RAM
- Octa-core processor
Setup Before You Launch
This shader uses an experimental feature in Bedrock, so there are two extra steps before it kicks in. Skip either one and nothing will change visually.
- Create a new world, go to Experimental Toggles, and turn on Render Dragon Features for Creators.
- Enter the world, open Settings, go to Video, scroll down to the Graphics Mode section, and enable Deferred Technical Preview.
- Apply PEYN Shader from your Resource Packs and you’re good to go.
