Novam Terram Mod 1.12.2 – 90+ New Biomes for Minecraft

Novam Terram adds 90+ biomes to Minecraft 1.12.2 with biome-specific ore generation. Inspired by Highlands, this is a solid world gen overhaul for 1.12.2.

Novam Terram adds over 90 new biomes to Minecraft 1.12.2. It’s inspired by The Highlands mod, and one thing that sets it apart from similar mods: ore generation varies by biome type, so where you settle and mine actually matters.

What It Adds

The mod completely shakes up world generation with a huge range of new biomes across four temperature categories: Warm, Cool, Icy, and Desert. You’ll run into alpine peaks, blossom forests, boggy swamps, clay flatlands, cold deserts, and a lot more. The variety is legit good and it holds up well for exploration playthroughs.

Biome-Based Ore Generation

This is the most interesting part. Certain ores generate in higher quantities depending on the biome type you’re in. It’s a small change but it adds a real reason to actually care about where you build your base, instead of just dropping down wherever looks nice.
