NBTedit is a standalone tool for editing NBT (Named Binary Tag) files from Minecraft. Need to modify item properties, tweak save files, or edit game data directly? This is what you need.
What Can You Do With NBTedit?
The tool handles all Minecraft data types:
- Edit bytes, shorts, ints, longs, floats, doubles, and strings
- Add, rename, and delete tags on the fly
- Search for specific names, values, or tag types
- Import and export byte arrays for editing
Most players use NBTedit to spawn items into survival without commands. It’s also useful if you’re working with datapacks, testing mods, or modifying player data files directly.
How to Install NBTedit
NBTedit is a desktop application, not a mod. No Forge or Fabric needed.
- Download the tool from the link below
- Extract the files to a folder
- Run the .exe file
- Open your NBT files and start editing
You need .NET Framework 2.0 to run it. Most Windows systems have this installed already, but if you hit an error, download it from Microsoft.
Version Compatibility
NBTedit works with NBT files from any Minecraft version. Since it’s a standalone tool and not a mod, there are no version restrictions. Works with Java Edition saves from all versions.
