What is a Music Disc in Minecraft?
Music discs are items you can play on a jukebox to add music to your world. The C418 – chirp disc is one of the original tracks and has a calm, atmospheric vibe. You can’t craft these – you have to find them.
Where to Find Music Disc (C418 – chirp)
In Creative Mode
Finding this music disc in Creative is super simple. Just open your inventory and search in the menu:
| Minecraft Version | Menu Location |
|---|---|
| 1.8 – 1.19 | Miscellaneous |
| 1.19.3 – 1.20 | Tools & Utilities |
In Survival Mode
This is where it gets real. You need to go exploring for dungeon loot.
Step 1: Find a Dungeon
Dungeons spawn underground and have a few telltale signs. You’ll see a monster spawner in the center, cobblestone and mossy cobblestone walls, and one or two chests with loot. The easiest way to find them is to dig down and explore, or switch to Spectator mode to scout around faster.
Step 2: Locate the Chest
Once you spot a dungeon, look for the chest. Some dungeons have double chests filled with different items.
Step 3: Open and Loot
Open the chest and grab the music disc if it’s there. Music discs are fairly rare, so you might need to check a few dungeons before you find one. You’ll also find other useful items like saddles, gold ingots, and armor.
Alternative Method: Creeper Drop
If you’re good at combat, you can use a skeleton to kill a creeper. When a skeleton’s arrow kills a creeper, it drops a music disc. This works for any music disc in the game, including C418 – chirp.
