Mob Blocker Mod Overview
Mob Blocker is a small but useful mod that gives you breathing room on your first night. When you spawn into a new world, you get a Chunk Protector block. Place it anywhere and it creates a safe zone for the next few days so you can actually build a base instead of panicking in a dirt hole.
The Chunk Protector keeps all hostile mobs out of that chunk for about 3 in-game days (configurable). Skeletons can’t shoot through it, witches can’t poison you, nothing gets in. After it decays, you’d better have walls up. The mod also includes the Area Protector, which you can craft later for a smaller but permanent 11x11x11 protection area.
Key Features
Chunk Protector
You get one free when you first spawn. It protects an entire chunk from all hostile mobs for a few days. Great for getting your bearings and building a proper shelter before the protection runs out.
Area Protector
Craft this block yourself for permanent protection. It only covers an 11x11x11 area around it, but it never decays. Perfect for protecting smaller structures or specific areas you want to keep safe.
Highly Configurable
Change the protection duration, the size of protected areas, and other settings to match your playstyle. Tweak it however you want.
How to Use
When you first enter a new world, you’ll get a Chunk Protector in your inventory. Just place it and the entire chunk becomes hostile-mob-free for a few days. Use that time to gather wood, build walls, and get your base started.
Every in-game day, the block decays a little bit. After the configured duration (default 3 days), it vanishes. By then you should have actual defenses built. If you want permanent protection, craft an Area Protector instead. It won’t go away, but it only protects a smaller area.

Installation
Mob Blocker requires Forge (no Fabric version available). Follow these steps:
- Install Minecraft Forge for your version
- Download the mod file for your version from the links below
- Place the .jar file in your .minecraft/mods folder
- Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile
