A lime creeper-shaped firework star makes your firework rockets explode in the shape of a creeper face, colored lime green. It takes three ingredients and a specific crafting layout. Here’s exactly how to make one.
Required Materials
To craft a lime creeper-shaped firework star you need:
- 1 Gunpowder
- 1 Lime Dye
- 1 Creeper Head
The creeper head is the tricky part. You get one when a creeper is killed by a charged creeper explosion. Charged creepers spawn when a normal creeper gets struck by lightning, so you’ll need to be patient or use a trident with Channeling during a storm. Creeper heads can also rarely show up in dungeon and bastion loot chests.
How to Craft a Lime Creeper-Shaped Firework Star
1. Open Your Crafting Table
Right-click a crafting table to open the 3×3 crafting grid.
2. Place the Items in the Correct Pattern
Placement matters here. Put all three items in the top row of the crafting grid, left to right:
- First slot (top-left): Gunpowder
- Second slot (top-middle): Creeper Head
- Third slot (top-right): Lime Dye
If the firework star doesn’t appear in the result box, double-check that nothing is in the wrong row or column.
3. Move It to Your Inventory
Click the firework star in the result slot and drag it into your inventory. Hover over it and you’ll see its type and color confirmed in the tooltip.
Optional: Adding Special Effects
You can drop extra items into the crafting grid alongside the main recipe to change how the firework looks when it goes off:
| Item | Effect | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Glowstone Dust | Twinkle | The firework flickers and crackles as it fades out |
| Diamond | Trail | Each particle leaves a trail behind it as the colors spread |
You can add both at the same time to get a firework with both effects.
What to Do With It
Use the firework star as an ingredient when crafting a firework rocket. Combine it with 1 gunpowder and 1 paper at the crafting table to get a lime creeper-shaped firework rocket. Adding more gunpowder (up to 3 total) increases the flight duration.
Other Firework Star Types
Firework stars come in five shapes and all 16 dye colors. Here’s a quick breakdown of how each shape is triggered:
Small Ball
The default shape. Just gunpowder and a dye, no special ingredient needed.
Large Ball
Add a fire charge to the recipe to get the bigger explosion radius.
Star-Shaped
Add a gold nugget to get the 8-pointed star burst effect.
Burst
Add a feather to get the burst shape, which fans outward on explosion.
Creeper-Shaped (Other Colors)
Same recipe as above, just swap in a different dye. Every color works: red, blue, purple, cyan, pink, yellow, light blue, magenta, orange, white, brown, green, light gray, gray, and black.
