How do I edit the Lilliputian config?

The config file is in your .minecraft/config folder as lilliputian.cfg. Edit it with any text editor. You can adjust size ranges and the blacklist, then restart Minecraft to see changes.

Will Lilliputian work with other mobs from mods?

Yes. The default config already includes entries for mobs from Quark, Roots, BiomesOPlenty, Botania, and other popular mods. You can add entries for other modded mobs too.

Can I resize players with this mod?

No, Lilliputian only affects mobs. Player sizes stay the same.

Can I make a mob bigger after it spawns?

No. Size is set when the mob spawns. You'd need to respawn the mob to change its size.

Does this work with Fabric?

Yes, Lilliputian works with both Forge and Fabric for 1.12.2.

Lilliputian Mod 1.12.2 Overview

Lilliputian Mod 1.12.2 is a straightforward mod that lets you configure how big or small mobs are in your world. You can set each mob type to a specific size, or give them a range so they spawn with random sizes between a min and max value.

The mod doesn’t touch player size and can’t resize mobs after they spawn. By default nothing changes until you edit the config file.

Features

Flexible Size Control

Set any mob to a single size multiplier (like 1.0 for normal, 0.5 for half size, 2.0 for double size) or give it a range. When you use a range, each new mob gets a random size within those bounds, which adds some visual variety to mobs that normally all look identical.

Extensive Default Config

The mod comes with a default config that already adjusts dozens of mobs from vanilla and popular mods. Small mobs like bats and silverfish get small ranges, bigger mobs like ghasts and llamas get wider ranges. You can modify these or keep them as is.

Entity Blacklist

Some mobs shouldn’t be resized. Giants, elder guardians, shulkers, ender dragons, and withers are blacklisted by default, so they always stay normal size.

How to Configure

The config file lives in your minecraft folder under config/lilliputian.cfg. There are two main settings:

Entity Resizing Blacklist: A list of mobs that won’t resize, even if you have a config entry for them.

Entity Base Sizes: Where you define how each mob sizes. The format is simple: entityname|sizevalue or entityname|min-max

To find an entity’s correct name, open Minecraft and use tab autocompletion in the /summon command. It’ll print all valid entity names to your log and chat.

Install Steps

Download Forge or Fabric for Minecraft 1.12.2
Download the Lilliputian mod jar from the links below
