How to Craft a Light Gray Burst Firework Rocket | 1Minecraft

Learn the exact crafting recipe for a light gray burst firework rocket in Minecraft, including how to control flight duration with gunpowder.

The light gray burst firework rocket explodes into a burst-shaped display in a pale gray color. It takes about 30 seconds to craft and looks great in a fireworks show or for propelling an Elytra.

Required Materials

To craft a light gray burst firework rocket you need:

  • 1 Paper
  • 1 Gunpowder (or more, depending on the flight duration you want)
  • 1 Light Gray Burst Firework Star

The firework star is what gives the rocket its burst shape and light gray color. You have to craft it separately before making the rocket itself.

How to Craft a Light Gray Burst Firework Rocket

Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table

Right-click a crafting table to open the 3×3 crafting grid.

Step 2: Place the Items

Arrange the items exactly like this:

  • Row 1: Paper in slot 1, Gunpowder in slot 2
  • Row 2: Light Gray Burst Firework Star in slot 1

The order matters. If the items aren’t in the right slots, the recipe won’t work.

Once placed correctly, the firework rocket appears in the result slot on the right. Hover over it to confirm the flight duration, shape (burst), and color (light gray).

Step 3: Move It to Your Inventory

Click the result to move the rocket into your inventory. Done.

Controlling Flight Duration

The amount of gunpowder you use sets how high the rocket goes. Using 1 gunpowder in the recipe gives a flight duration of 1. Swap it for 2 or 3 gunpowder to get flight durations of 2 or 3. Three is the max.

Higher duration means the rocket travels farther before exploding, which is useful when you want the burst to appear higher in the sky.

What to Do with This Rocket

A few things you can do once you have it:

  • Launch it from the ground for a burst display
  • Use it to propel yourself while gliding with an Elytra
  • Chain several together for a fireworks show

Other Firework Rocket Types

Burst is one of five firework shapes. The others are small ball, large ball, star-shaped, and creeper-shaped. Each shape is determined by the firework star used in the recipe. All 16 dye colors work with every shape, so there are a lot of combinations to try.
