Learn how to craft a Letter P banner in Minecraft. Build it step-by-step using a loom, dyes, and banner patterns.

This guide shows you how to craft a Letter P banner in Minecraft. You’ll use a loom and a few dyes to layer patterns together and create the letter P shape on your banner.

What You’ll Need

To make a Letter P banner, gather these materials:

  • 1 White Banner
  • 4 Black Dye
  • 2 White Dye

Want a different color? Just swap out the black dye for another color. Use 4 red dye instead if you want a red Letter P, or any other dye color you prefer.

How to Craft the Letter P Banner

Step 1: Open the Loom

Place a loom down and interact with it. The loom menu has three slots: one for the banner, one for dye, and one for banner patterns.

Step 2: Add Black Pale Sinister (1st Pattern)

Put your white banner and 1 black dye in the loom. Select “Pale Sinister” from the pattern list (scroll down if you don’t see it). This adds the first part of the P.

Step 3: Add White Per Fess Inverted (2nd Pattern)

Take the banner from Step 2 and put it back in the loom with 1 white dye. Select “Per Fess Inverted.” This carves out the middle section.

Step 4: Add Black Pale Dexter (3rd Pattern)

Put the banner and 1 black dye in the loom. Select “Pale Dexter” to add the right side of the letter.

Step 5: Add Black Chief (4th Pattern)

Add your banner and 1 black dye. Select “Chief” to add the top bar of the P.

Step 6: Add Black Fess (5th Pattern)

Add the banner and 1 black dye. Select “Fess” to add the middle bar.

Step 7: Add White Bordure (6th Pattern)

Add the banner and 1 white dye. Select “Bordure” to add the final border. Hover over your banner to see all the patterns stacked up.

Step 8: Grab Your Banner

Move the finished Letter P banner to your inventory. Done! You can now use it as a flag or apply it to a shield.

What’s It Used For?

Letter banners work great for decorating your builds, marking territory, or just showing off. You can place them on walls, poles, or shields. They’re purely decorative in vanilla Minecraft, so use them however you want.
