JACS The Robot Addon (1.20, 1.19) – Bedrock/MCPE

JACS adds craftable combat robots to Bedrock. Four modes, upgradeable builds, custom sounds, and enemy mobs. Works in Minecraft 1.19 and 1.20.

JACS (Just A Combat System) adds craftable combat robots to Minecraft Bedrock. You spawn them, they fight mobs. Four modes cover melee, ranged, stationary turret, and a tank-class big bot. Everything is craftable and upgradeable, and the addon comes with its own enemy mobs, bosses, weapons, armor, tools, and ore. It works alongside other addons too, including targeting their hostile mobs.

Combat Modes

JACS (Base Mode)

The default robot. Gets in close with melee attacks and applies wither effects to whatever it’s fighting. 120 HP, tameable. Craft the summon with 1 iron block, 1 redstone block, 2 iron ingots, and 2 redstone, then throw it like a snowball to spawn it.

JACS Shooter Mode

Ranged variant that shoots fireballs and keeps its distance from targets, which makes it harder for mobs to kill. 120 HP, tameable. Craft by combining the base JACS summon with a fire component. The fire component uses 2 redstone + 3 iron ingots + 1 blaze powder.

JACS Turret Mode

Stationary arrow shooter. It won’t move on its own, but you can leash it to relocate it. Good for defending a fixed area. 120 HP, not tameable. Craft by combining the JACS summon with a turret component (2 redstone + 3 iron ingots + 1 dispenser).

JACS Big Guy

A very large robot that hits harder, applies longer wither effects, ignores fall damage, and is rideable as of the 1.5.0 update. 400 HP. The summon recipe is expensive: base JACS summon + 4 iron blocks + 3 redstone blocks + 1 emerald block. Worth it if you’re fighting bosses or need serious mob control.

Taming and Healing

To tame JACS, JACS Shooter, or Big Guy, craft a follower chip (2 redstone + 1 iron ingot) and hand it to the robot. Taming is guaranteed, no RNG involved. All JACS robots heal with redstone. One redstone restores 30 HP.

Version 2.0: Rebooted

The 2.0 update overhauled the whole addon. Every robot got a new custom model and reworked textures that are more detailed while still looking like the originals, so it feels like an upgrade rather than a replacement. Custom robotic sounds were added across the board: idle, hit, death, spawn, tame, and heal. Big Guy and Big Guy Supercharged also got a secondary roar idle and giant footstep sounds.

Sitting animations were fixed too. Tamed robots now actually sit on the ground instead of standing in place, and there’s a proper stand-up animation so you can tell at a glance whether your robot is resting or ready to follow. Enemy robots and bosses got the same visual update, and several item textures were cleaned up to match.

Installation Note

Before loading the world, enable all required Experimental Settings in world options. The addon won’t work correctly without them.
