Do I need Immersive Engineering installed to use this mod?

Yes. Immersive Technology is an addon and won't load without Immersive Engineering. Both mods need to be in your mods folder.

What fuel does the Boiler use?

The Boiler runs on Biodiesel or other combustible fluids. Distilled Water is more efficient than regular water, so run it through a Distiller first if you can.

How many Solar Reflectors does the Solar Tower need?

At minimum one, but more reflectors means more steam output. There's no hard cap, so you can scale it up by adding more reflectors around the tower.

What's the difference between the Steam Turbine and the Gas Turbine?

The Steam Turbine runs on steam produced by a Boiler or Solar Tower and can generate more power at scale, but requires more infrastructure. The Gas Turbine is smaller and burns combustible fuels directly, so it's easier to get running early on.

Does the Open Barrel work everywhere?

It collects rainwater in most biomes, at double the rate during thunderstorms. It will lose water in hot biomes and the Nether, so don't rely on it in those areas.

Immersive Technology Mod 1.12.2 for Immersive Engineering

Immersive Technology is an addon for Immersive Engineering that adds full steam and gas turbine power generation to Minecraft 1.12.2. It covers the complete Rankine cycle for steam turbines and the Brayton cycle for gas turbines, so you can build real power plant setups with boilers, turbines, cooling towers, and solar concentrators. If you’re already deep into IE and want industrial-scale power generation, this fills the gap.

Features

Power Generation

Steam Turbine – A large multiblock that generates power from steam. Attach an Alternator to get RF output.
Gas Turbine – Smaller than the Steam Turbine, burns combustible fuels directly. Also needs an Alternator connected.
Alternator – Connects to either turbine and converts mechanical energy into usable power.

Steam Production

Boiler – Burns Biodiesel or other combustible fuels to turn water into steam. Distilled Water is more efficient than regular water.
Solar Tower – Uses concentrated sunlight to produce steam from water. Needs at least one Solar Reflector aimed at it to function.
Solar Reflector – A multiblock that focuses sunlight onto the Solar Tower. Add more reflectors to scale up steam output.

Water and Fluid Handling

Distiller – Converts regular water into Distilled Water, which runs more efficiently in both the Boiler and Solar Tower.
Cooling Tower – Converts exhaust steam back into Distilled Water or regular Water so nothing goes to waste.
Steel Tank – Holds more fluid than the standard IE iron multiblock tank and outputs fluids faster.
Open Barrel – Collects rainwater passively, at 2x the rate during thunderstorms. Loses water in hot biomes and the Nether, so plan accordingly. Input is on top or by bucket, output from the bottom only.
Creative Barrel – Infinite fluid source for testing builds. Takes input by bucket or pipe, outputs on all sides. Shift-click with an empty hand to clear it, or swap fluids by clicking with a different bucket.

Utility

Redstone Timer – A simple redstone timing block.
Trash Cans – Separate disposal units for fluids, items, and energy. Stops conveyor belts from jamming up when buffers get overfull.
