Harvest Festival Mod (1.12.2, 1.10.2) – Farming, Cooking & NPCs

Harvest Festival brings Harvest Moon-style farming to Minecraft 1.12.2. Grow crops, raise animals, build a town, and cook recipes. Forge required.

Harvest Festival is a mod built around the Harvest Moon series. It brings proper farming seasons, livestock care, NPC relationships, town building, and a cooking system into Minecraft. If you’ve ever wanted that slow-paced farming RPG feel without leaving the game, this is worth grabbing.

Seasons and Farming

The four seasons actually matter here. Each one changes day length, daily weather, and what you can plant. You can’t just grow the same crops all year round.

  • 13 new crops that need watering to grow
  • Seasons HUD so you can track where you are in the year
  • Seasonal appearance changes across the world

Livestock

Cows, chickens, and sheep can all be raised and cared for. The more attention you give them, the better the products they produce. You buy your first animals from the shops in town.

Town Building and NPCs

There’s a builder NPC who guides you through setting up a town from scratch. You buy buildings, place them, and gradually fill your settlement with people. It’s a lot more involved than it sounds.

  • Multiple NPCs with relationship meters that unlock more content as you progress
  • Shops to buy items, animals, and supplies
  • Sell crops, fish, and other goods to earn money for new buildings

Cooking and Mining

There’s a full cooking system using crops you harvest, with a cookbook to track your recipes. The mine has infinite floors for gathering minerals, which you can sell or use to upgrade your tools.

CraftTweaker Support

Works with CraftTweaker so you can configure what items are buyable, shippable, and more. Useful if you’re building a modpack around this.

Getting Started

Summon the Harvest Goddess first. Any flower works for the ritual. Once she appears, select the tutorial option and she’ll walk you through the rest. Don’t skip it, the mod has a lot of moving parts and the tutorial actually covers them well.
