Do Illager Guards spawn on their own or do I need to configure anything?

In the 1.12.2 version they spawn automatically at woodland mansion entrances and hallways. No extra setup needed, just install the mod and go find a mansion.

Can Illager Guards open doors?

Yes. They can open doors, so locking yourself in a room won't buy you much time.

What can Illager Guards drop?

Iron swords, shields with their face on them, and sometimes their helmet. If you kill one while it's drinking a potion, that potion has a chance to drop too.

Does this mod need anything besides Forge?

No. Just Minecraft Forge for your version. No extra libraries or dependencies.

Does the 1.14.4 version have all the same features as 1.12.2?

Not quite. Guard spawning in woodland mansions is currently a 1.12.2 feature. The 1.14.4 version has updated visuals including cloak physics, but custom sounds aren't in yet.

Guard Illagers Mod for Minecraft 1.14.4, 1.12.2

Guard Illagers adds armored Illager Guards to Minecraft, making woodland mansions actually dangerous. These guys spawn in the entrances and hallways, hit hard, and are smart enough to drink healing potions when you put them on the back foot. If you’ve ever thought woodland mansions were too easy to clear out, this is worth grabbing.

What the Mod Adds

Illager Guards

Spawn naturally at woodland mansion entrances and hallways (1.12.2 version)
Attack with iron swords, which can rarely drop on death
Carry shields with their face on them, also a rare drop
Drink healing potions when damaged, and swiftness potions to catch up with you. Kill one while it’s mid-drink and the potion can drop.
Can open doors, so don’t expect to hide and wait them out
Custom animations and sounds. The 1.13+ version has cloak physics on the guards, though sounds aren’t in yet.
Rarely drops their helmet on death

A rare drop from aggressive guards
Adapts to your head shape when worn and shifts your view slightly
More functionality planned for a future update
