What happens if I stop feeding items into the Barrier Generator?

The world border starts shrinking. The generator checks the item count every 5 seconds, so if the hoppers run dry it will keep reducing the border size. Keep your hoppers stocked to hold the border where you want it.

Can I place more than one Barrier Generator in a world?

No. The mod enforces a limit of one generator per world. Placing a second one will cause conflicts, so pick your location carefully before committing.

Does the Barrier Generator keep working when I am far away or in another dimension?

Yes. When you place it, it force-loads its chunk and 8 surrounding chunks using the /forceload command, so it stays active regardless of where you are in the world.

Can I move the Barrier Generator after placing it?

Not cleanly. Picking it back up breaks the force-load setup and world border center that were set on placement. It is best to decide on a permanent location before you switch to survival.

What items can I feed into the Barrier Generator?

The initial setup requires creative mode, which is a bit of an odd start, but the mod author has flagged this as something to simplify in a future update.

How It Works

Drop the Barrier Generator at whatever location you want as your center point, while still in creative. The moment you place it, it sets the world border center to its position, updates the world spawn point, and force-loads its chunk plus 8 surrounding chunks via /forceload so it stays active no matter what dimension you are in.

Switch to survival and start piping items into it with hoppers. Every 5 seconds, the generator counts what’s inside and fires a /worldborder command to resize the barrier accordingly. One world can only have one generator active at a time.

Configurable Gamerules

The mod adds three new gamerules you can adjust:

bgWorkBarrierGenerator (true/false) – turns the generator on or off entirely without removing the block.
bgBarrierCoefficient (integer) – controls how much each item contributes to border size. A higher value means each item goes further.
bgMinimumBarrierRadius (integer) – sets a floor so the border can never shrink below a certain radius no matter what.

There is also a /bgremoveloaded command that clears the force-loaded chunks if you ever need to reset that.
