Furnace Mk2 gives you a better vanilla furnace that sits right between basic smelting and fancy tech mod gear. It’s the upgrade path you’ve been looking for.
The mod stays focused and adds real improvements without bloating things with junk. Everything should make sense if you hover over it for tooltips. The design is solid and doesn’t try to do too much.
Core Features
The Furnace
The interface looks like a lot at first, but it’s designed to guide you. Empty slots show you what they do, and tooltips give you extra info when you need it. JEI integration works out of the box and shows recipes using JEI’s built-in vanilla furnace entries.
You get better speed, fuel efficiency, and experience output compared to vanilla. The furnace also handles fuel cleanup automatically so you don’t end up with leftover buckets everywhere.
Attuned Crystal
The furnace stores some XP, but stick an Attuned Crystal in the bottom-right slot to hold way more. It stores 10,000 XP, which is over 63 levels from zero.
Click the crystal to pull XP for yourself. Hold Shift and click to dump your XP into it. The crystal even makes a sound that changes pitch based on how full it is, which is a nice touch.
Upgrades
You can craft several upgrades to improve the furnace further. Check JEI if you’re on Forge or Roughly Enough Items if you’re on Fabric to see all the recipes. Available upgrades include the Experience Upgrade, Thermal Upgrade, and Insulation Upgrade.
Installation
You’ll need either Minecraft Forge or Fabric API for this mod to work.
