Extra Vanilla Mobs Addon (1.19) adds 8 new creatures to Minecraft that feel right at home in vanilla survival. You get snails, butterflies, koi fish, cane toads, caterpillars, cockroaches, chimpanzees, ducks, skinks, and fennec foxes. Each mob has its own behavior, spawning rules, and uses. There’s no new items yet, just mobs that actually do stuff.
What Mobs Are Included
Snail
- Health: 4
- Spawns in: Plains Biome
- What it does: Eats grass during the day, hides in its shell at night
- Why you want it: Drops slime balls when eating grass
Koi Fish
- Health: 6
- Spawns in: Jungle Waters
- What it does: Swims around. Comes in 3 color variants: orange with black spots, orange only, or gold (rare)
- Why you want it: Can be eaten as food
Caterpillar
- Health: 4
- Spawns in: Forest Biome
- What it does: Eats grass. After eating 2 grass blocks, turns into a cocoon and becomes a butterfly
- Why you want it: Easy way to farm lots of butterflies
Butterfly
- Health: 10
- Spawns in: Flower Forest Biome
- What it does: Eats grass and loves flowers. Comes in 4 variants: orange, yellow, blue, and purple
- Why you want it: Makes crops grow faster after eating grass
Cane Toad
- Health: 15
- Spawns in: Swamps at night
- What it does: Breeds like crazy when you feed it sugar cane. Can have up to 8 babies at once. Eats larger slimes than regular frogs
- Why you want it: Clears out slimes
Cockroach
- Health: 4
- Spawns in: Wooden houses at night
- What it does: Pest that eats crops. Burrows underground when you get close
- Why you want it: Prank your friends
Chimpanzee
- Health: 15
- Spawns in: Doesn’t spawn naturally yet
- What it does: Has a daily schedule. Climbs trees and grabs apples during the day, wanders when full, sits down before night, sleeps
- Why you want it: Acts as a clock to tell you when night is coming
Skink
- Health: 15
- Spawns in: Savanna and Dark Oak Biomes
- What it does: Cute reptile that runs away from players, foxes, and fennec foxes
- Why you want it: Good pet
Duck
- Health: 4
- Spawns in: Beach Biomes
- What it does: Spends most of the day swimming
- Why you want it: Farms eggs
Fennec Fox
- Health: 15
- Spawns in: Desert Biomes
- What it does: Smaller version of the regular fox. Hunts rabbits and skinks. Eats chicken and turtle eggs instead of sweet berries
- Why you want it: Kills rabbits and skinks
How to Install
Download the .mcaddon file and open it on your device. It’ll automatically import into Minecraft. Go to your world settings and turn on the addon.
You need to enable Experimental Gameplay in your settings first.
