What key do I press to start crawling?

The default key is LEFT-ALT. Hold it to crawl. You can change it to any key you want in Minecraft's Key Binds settings under Options.

How small a space can I crawl through?

Any gap that's at least one block tall. If you can see through it, you can probably crawl through it with this mod installed.

Does this work with Fabric or only Forge?

Will this conflict with other movement mods?

It generally works fine alongside other mods. If you run into a conflict, the most common fix is checking if another mod is using the same keybind and reassigning one of them.

Do I stay in crawl mode or do I have to hold the key?

You hold the key to crawl. Release it and you return to normal movement. There's no toggle-lock by default, so it behaves like a held action rather than a mode switch.

Crawl on Demand Mod (1.20.2, 1.20.1) for Minecraft

Crawl on Demand does exactly one thing: it gives you a keybind that lets you drop into crawl mode whenever you want. Press LEFT-ALT by default, hold it, and you’re crawling. You can squeeze through any gap that’s one block tall, which opens up a surprising number of spots you’d normally just stare at and move on from.

Crawling lets you slip under blocks and into tight spots that most things can’t follow you into. Good for survival situations where you need to disappear fast.

Fully Rebindable Key

The default toggle is LEFT-ALT, but you can change it to anything in the vanilla Key Binds menu. If LEFT-ALT conflicts with something else in your setup, just swap it out.

Works for Roleplay and Adventure Maps

If you play on custom maps or do any kind of roleplay, this fits naturally. Crawling as a soldier or spy feels a lot more grounded than just crouching in place.

How to Install

Download and install Minecraft Forge for your Minecraft version.
Download the Crawl on Demand mod file for your version from the links below.
Open your Minecraft folder and navigate to the mods folder (.minecraft/mods). Create it if it doesn’t exist.
Drop the .jar file into the mods folder.
Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile. The crawl keybind will be available immediately.
