If you miss what Minecraft looked like in Beta, Classic Alternative is exactly what you need. It takes the modern game and makes it feel like a continuation of those old days, as if Beta never actually ended. The textures are mostly from the classic era with most of the original sounds baked in, and they blend way better with current Minecraft than you’d expect.

At 16x resolution, this pack walks a middle ground. It’s not low-res nostalgia, but it’s not trying to modernize anything either. Just pure “what if Beta kept going” vibes.

• Black borders around new foods and crops to match the classic style
• Prismarine looks like a water-themed cobblestone instead of modern cyan

Compatibility

Works great with vanilla Minecraft. The pack plays nice with OptiFine too, so you can add connected textures and other enhancements on top if you want. No shader conflicts or weird visual glitches.

Installation
