What is a Chorus Flower?
Chorus flowers are plants that grow in the End dimension. You can’t craft them, but they’re easy to find once you know where to look. You’ll spot them growing on chorus plants that look like tall purple stalks. They’re useful for decoration and redstone builds.
Where to Find Chorus Flowers
In the End Dimension
You need to travel to End cities to find chorus flowers. They grow naturally on chorus plants scattered around those floating islands. Once you find an End city, you’ll see these purple plant structures. The flower spawns at the top of the plant.
If you haven’t reached the End yet, you’ll need to find a stronghold, gather eyes of ender, and travel through the nether. It’s doable in Survival mode but takes time.
In Creative Mode
Java Edition 1.9 to 1.19: Find chorus flowers in the Decoration Blocks tab
Java Edition 1.19.3+: Look in the Natural Blocks tab
How to Break Chorus Flowers
Breaking them depends on what platform you’re using:
- Java Edition: Left click and hold the flower
- Pocket Edition: Tap and hold on the flower
- Xbox 360/One: Press and hold RT
- PS3/PS4: Press and hold R2
- Wii U: Press and hold ZR
- Nintendo Switch: Press and hold ZR
- Windows 10 Edition: Left click and hold
Important: Always break the flower at the top, not the stem below it. If you break the stem first, the whole plant drops chorus fruit instead of flowers.
Picking Up Your Flower
After you break it, a chorus flower item drops on the ground. Grab it before it disappears. It’ll go straight into your hotbar and you can use it later.
Command Cheat
If you just want to skip the hunt, use the give command:
Java Edition 1.13+: /give @p chorus_flower 1
Java Edition 1.9 to 1.12: /give @p chorus_flower 1 0
