Calm Before The Snowstorm is a minigame map created by KVT that puts you against the clock. You have exactly one hour to mine through snow layers and earn as many Winter Spending points as you can. Why? Because after that hour is up, a massive blizzard arrives. Without a force field, you’re dead. And here’s the catch: everyone only gets one life.
How the Mining Works
Different snow blocks give you different amounts of points:
- Snow Layer: 1 point
- Snow Block: 2 points
- Packed Snow: 3 points
Your goal is to rack up 50,000 Winter Spending within the hour to power up the force field. Dig efficiently and you might just make it.
The Shop
Mining isn’t your only move. There’s a shop where you can buy better gear. Want to fight off the buff mobs? Pick up some weapons and armor. Every upgrade counts when things get tough.
Stronger Monsters
Don’t expect normal mobs. The enemies in this map are stronger than usual and some come with special abilities. You’ll need good equipment if you plan on doing any fighting.
Team Play
You can team up with friends to tackle the map together. More players means more mining power and more people working toward that force field goal.
Important Notes
- Play on Minecraft 1.12 or 1.12.2 only. Other versions won’t work right.
- Set your render distance to 12 or higher for the best experience.
- No cheating. Keep it legit.
How to Install
Installing maps is pretty straightforward:
- Download the map file from below
- Extract the folder if it’s zipped
- Open your Minecraft saves folder (.minecraft/saves)
- Paste the map folder in there
- Load it up in Minecraft and enjoy
