Does Boat HUD Mod work with Forge?

No, this mod is Fabric only. You need Fabric Modloader installed, along with Fabric API and Cloth Config API.

What does drift angle mean in the HUD?

It shows the angle at which your boat is sliding sideways relative to the direction it's pointing. Useful for understanding how much momentum you're carrying through turns.

Why does the mod show two different speed values?

Boats move much faster on ice than in water, so the mod splits them into separate readings. That way you can tell exactly which surface is affecting your speed at any given moment.

Is Cloth Config API required or optional?

It's required. The mod uses it for its config system, so the game won't load Boat HUD Mod without it.

Does the HUD show up in multiplayer?

Yes. The overlay shows your own boat's stats whenever you're in a boat, whether you're on a singleplayer world or a server.

Boat HUD Mod (1.19.4, 1.18.2) - Boat Speed and Direction

Boat HUD Mod puts a small info panel on your screen whenever you’re riding a boat. It shows your speed, heading direction, and drift angle so you actually know what the boat is doing instead of just vibing and hoping for the best. If you build boat minigames or do a lot of water travel, this one’s worth grabbing.

The ice vs. water speed split is a nice touch. Boats move a lot faster on ice, so having both readings separately makes it way easier to understand what’s actually happening with your speed.

Requirements

How to Install

Install Fabric Modloader for your Minecraft version.
Download Fabric API and Cloth Config API and drop them in your mods folder.
Download the Boat HUD Mod file matching your version from the links below.
Place the .jar file into your .minecraft/mods folder.
Launch Minecraft using the Fabric profile, load a world, and get in a boat.
