What Does Better Fonts Mod Do?
Better Fonts replaces Minecraft’s default bitmap fonts with TrueType/OpenType fonts from your system. Instead of pixelated text, you get smooth, rendered fonts everywhere in the game. Chat, signs, GUIs, the debug screen, everything uses proper fonts.
If you play in languages like Arabic or Hindi, this mod makes a huge difference. Those languages need complex text layout that bitmap fonts just can’t handle. With Better Fonts, they actually look readable. The mod barely impacts performance either.

How to Install
- Download and install Minecraft Forge for your version
- Download the Better Fonts mod jar file
- Open your .minecraft folder (Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft, Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft, Linux: ~/.minecraft)
- Go into the mods folder. Create it if it doesn’t exist
- Drop the mod jar file into the mods folder
- Launch Minecraft with Forge
- Done. Better Fonts will generate a config file on first load
