About the Basalt Deltas Biome
The Basalt Deltas is a biome found in the Nether dimension. It’s a dark, volcanic wasteland filled with large spikes of basalt rising from the ground. This biome was added in the Nether Update and is one of the most distinctive Nether environments you’ll find.
What You’ll Find Here
The landscape is dominated by dark volcanic terrain. You’ll see massive basalt pillars shooting up from the ground, blackstone scattered throughout, and magma blocks in various places. The sky is a dark purple like most Nether biomes, and there’s no weather since you’re in the Nether dimension.
Blocks
The Basalt Deltas has several unique blocks you won’t see as commonly in other biomes:
- Basalt – The main block that makes up the large spikes
- Blackstone – Found throughout the landscape
- Magma Block – Creates hazardous areas
Mobs
You’ll encounter the typical Nether mobs here. Ghasts float around in the open spaces, and magma cubes hop around on the ground. Be careful with magma blocks since they deal damage when you stand on them.
Getting Around
There are no trees or vegetation in the Basalt Deltas. The terrain is harsh and barren, so watch your step. The basalt spikes can be tricky to navigate, but they’re good for building and mining materials.
