Backported Wolves Mod
This mod brings all 8 new wolf variants from the latest Minecraft snapshots back to older versions. If you’re playing on 1.20.1, 1.19.2, or anything in between, you can get the Pale Wolf, Ashen Wolf, Snowy Wolf, and all the rest without waiting for the full release.
Each wolf variant looks different and spawns in different biomes. You can tame them, breed them together, and their offspring keep the same look. It’s a solid way to add more variety to wolf packs without needing a full Minecraft update.
What’s Included
- 8 wolf variants: Pale, Woods, Ashen, Black, Chestnut, Rusty, Spotted, and Striped
- Biome-specific spawning: Different wolves appear in Taiga, Forest, Snowy areas, Jungle, Savanna, Badlands, and Grove biomes
- Tameable and breedable: Tame them with bones like normal wolves, and breeding passes traits to pups
- Backward compatible: Works on versions from 1.18.2 all the way to 1.20.6
Which Mod Loader
This mod has versions for both Forge and Fabric. Newer versions (1.20.5+) are Fabric/Quilt only. Check the downloads below to find your version and loader.
