Do I need any mods to play Arctic Abyss?

No mods required. Just load the map in vanilla Minecraft 1.5.1 and start playing.

It was built for Minecraft 1.5.1. You can try it on other versions but things like mob spawning and world behavior may not work as intended.

Can I play Arctic Abyss with friends?

Yes. Upload the map folder to your server's world directory and connect like any other world. The map is designed for 1-4 players.

Am I allowed to spawn items or use cheats?

No. The rules say no spawning items or blocks. Using cheats removes the whole point of a survival map.

Where do I put the map file after downloading?

Extract the zip and put the folder in .minecraft/saves on your computer. Then open Minecraft and it'll show up in your Singleplayer world list.

About Arctic Abyss Survival Map

Arctic Abyss drops you into a frozen Arctic biome with nothing. No food, no items, no starting gear. You survive on whatever you can find, and in a world made of ice and snow, that’s not much.

There’s a full challenge list to work through on top of just staying alive, plus caves and dungeons scattered around with treasure and mobs waiting inside. The map supports 1-4 players and runs fine on a server if you want to take it on with friends.

Rules

Follow these or you’ll break the map experience:

Play on Easy or harder
No Nether portals
Stay within the bedrock perimeter
No spawning items or blocks
No Eyes of Ender (they don’t work right on this map anyway)

Bonus Tasks

Once you’ve finished the main challenge list, try these:

Tame and keep 6 dogs alive through all your challenges
Play the Hardcore version

Version Compatibility

Built for Minecraft 1.5.1. Loading it on a newer version may cause world generation issues or broken mob behavior, so stick to 1.5.1 if you can.

How to Install Arctic Abyss Survival Map
