Archmagus Mod turns you into a wizard. Grab spell books from mobs and start slinging spells. Need to clear out a cave? Summon skeletons to fight for you. Getting ganked? Teleport away or throw up a shield. The mod gives you tons of magic options instead of just hitting things with a sword.
Spell Books and Combat
Spell books drop from mobs when they die. They’re rare enough that you won’t get everything right away, but common enough that you’ll build a decent arsenal over time. Got multiple copies of the same spell book? Combine them in an anvil to upgrade it, just like with enchanted books.
Spells are split into a few types. Damage spells like Blazefire and Witherblast hit enemies. Shields protect you when stuff hits back. Summon and raise spells give you backup in a fight. Utility stuff like Teleport and Respawn gets you out of tight spots.
The Mana System
Every spell costs mana to cast. Your mana bar refills slowly over time, so you can’t just spam spells forever. New players start with basically no mana, but you can boost your max mana by eating Crystalline Apples. Eat enough of them and you can get up to 20 mana max.
Crystalline Apples are crafted from Mana Crystals and regular apples. Mine Mana Crystals from Mana Crystal Source blocks in the Nether. They’re not super common but you can find them if you look around.
You can also brew Potions of Mana Surge, which restore mana over a few seconds. These are made with Mana Crystals and Awkward Potions. You can pump them up with glowstone and gunpowder just like regular potions.
