Ancient Gateways Mod Overview
Ancient Gateways adds a custom 7×7 portal system to Minecraft. Instead of using vanilla portal blocks, you build these ancient structures with specific blocks and place cores and glyphs in the right spots. Once activated, they create a 5×5 opening that lets you travel between two locations, even across different dimensions. It’s a solid alternative to the Nether and End portals if you want something different.
Features
Portal Building
- Construct a 7×7 portal frame using ancient gateway blocks
- Place the core block and glyphs in specific locations to activate the gate
- Creates a 5×5 square or cross-shaped opening when activated
Dimension Travel
- Link two locations together through your custom portal
- Works as a replacement for Nether and End portals
- Travel between dimensions using the gateway system
Getting Started
You’ll want to install Just Enough Items (if you’re using Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (if you’re using Fabric) to see all the crafting recipes. The mod uses Fabric, so make sure you have the loader and dependencies ready before installing.
What You Need
This mod requires Fabric to run. Make sure you have both installed before putting the mod file in your mods folder.
