How to Craft an Acacia Fence
Acacia fences are one of the easiest decorative blocks to make in Minecraft. You can craft them in bulk and use them to build enclosures, decorative barriers, or pens for animals. The recipe gives you 3 fences at a time, so it’s pretty efficient.
Materials You’ll Need
To make an acacia fence, you need:
- 4 Acacia Planks
- 2 Sticks
That’s it. Pretty straightforward.
Crafting Recipe
Place your materials on the crafting table in this pattern:
| Acacia Plank | Stick | Acacia Plank |
| Acacia Plank | Stick | Acacia Plank |
This pattern creates 3 acacia fences. You can repeat this as many times as you need planks and sticks.
Finding Acacia Fences in Creative Mode
If you just want to grab some acacia fences without crafting:
Java Edition:
- Versions 1.8 to 1.19: Look in the Decoration Blocks tab
- Versions 1.19.3+: Found in the Building Blocks tab
Using the /give Command
In newer versions (1.13+), use this command:
/give @p acacia_fence 1
For older versions (1.8-1.12), add the data value:
/give @p acacia_fence 1 0
Block Properties
Acacia fences connect automatically to adjacent fences, walls, and blocks. They have these properties:
- North, South, East, West: Set to true/false depending on which sides the fence connects
- Waterlogged: Can be placed underwater (true) or not (false)
- Stacks to 64
What to Do With Acacia Fences
Acacia fences work great for:
- Building animal pens and enclosures
- Creating decorative boundaries
- Building ranch-style buildings
- Stair railings and safety barriers
- Combining with other fence types for mixed designs
Other Fence Types
If you want more variety, you can also craft:
- Oak Fence
- Spruce Fence
- Birch Fence
- Jungle Fence
- Dark Oak Fence
- Nether Brick Fence

Fence Gates
Need a way through your fence? Make an acacia fence gate using the same planks and sticks. You can also find acacia fence gates by crafting them with a stick in the middle of your fence recipe.
