Invisible Item Frames Plugin (1.20.1, 1.19.4), Spigot

Hide item frame borders while keeping items fully visible. This Spigot plugin lets you toggle frame visibility with a command. Works on 1.8 through 1.20.1.

Item frames are useful, but that brown border sticks out like a sore thumb in any clean build. This plugin lets you make item frames completely invisible while keeping the displayed item right where it is. Great for floating decorations, hidden storage labels, or just keeping walls tidy.

Features

  • Drop-in install, no config required to get started
  • Toggle frame visibility with a simple command or by right-clicking in edit mode
  • Automatic toggling: frames go invisible when empty, visible when holding an item
  • Glow colors: add or remove colored glow effects on any item frame
  • Container passthrough: players can still open containers behind visible or invisible frames
  • Scan command to find nearby item frames and highlight them with particles
  • Works with WorldGuard, GriefPrevention, Lands, and other protection plugins
  • Hex color support on compatible Minecraft versions
  • Built with performance in mind from the start

Commands

  • /ITF, shows help and usage
  • /ITF Toggle Visibility, toggles visibility of the frame you’re looking at (bypasses protection plugins)
  • /ITF Toggle Glow [Color], toggles glow on the frame you’re looking at
  • /ITF ToggleMode Visibility, enters edit mode so you can right-click frames to toggle them (respects protection plugins, safe to give to players)
  • /ITF ToggleMode Glow [Color], same as above but for glow color
  • /ITF Scan (Radius), spawns particles on nearby item frames for 6 seconds so you can find them

Permissions

  • invisibleitemframes.command.toggle.visibility, use /ITF Toggle Visibility
  • invisibleitemframes.command.toggle.glow, use /ITF Toggle Glow
