Spelunkery Mod

Spelunkery Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) goals revamp tool progression to enhance the experience of mining, to populate the underground with new landmarks and points of interest to strengthen the variety of caves, to provide novel and useful tools to improve otherwise mundane tasks related to exploration.

Features:

Conk Fungus:

  • On logs on the surface, walls in near-surface caves and in Abandoned Mineshafts
  • Source of wood while in caves, Interchangeable with Wood Planks in most recipes

Inkcap Mushrooms

  • On cave floors everywhere, Pale Inkcaps generate below y=0
  • Often found in patches with Red and Brown mushrooms in caves, huge variants included
  • Used to craft black and white dye respectively, can be bonemealed to become giant
  • Can spread slowly over time like red and brown mushrooms

Phosphor Fungi

  • Grows on Wall & ground in caves below y=0
  • Used to craft glowsticks, alternative to glow ink sacs

Portabellas, Criminis and Button Mushrooms

  • Dirt and Mycelium patches just below the surface, Huge Portabellas appear in Dark Forests
  • Starts as a Button Mushroom, grows into Crimini and then finally the Portabella
  • All growth stages can be eaten for various effects. Portabellas can be cooked
  • Can spread slowly over time like red and brown mushrooms but the new ones that appear are always Button Mushrooms

Milly Bubcap

  • Quite rare but can appear anywhere underground. Can stack up to 8 bubs in a single block similar to Candles or Sea Pickles

Sporophytes & Tall Sporophytes

  • Lusher, greener replacement for grass & tall grass generation in moss patches

Tangle Roots

  • Climbable roots that appear under dirt overhangs on or near the surface
  • Used to create rope ladders

Rough Gemstones

  • The vanilla gemstone ores have had their drops changed to Rough versions, similar to the Raw versions from metal ores.
  • Dig up Rough Diamonds and Emeralds. Lapis Lazuli ore will drop Rough Lazurite and Redstone Ores drop Rough Cinnabar.
  • Use them on a grindstone to polish them into their refined states.

  • Some gems create additional byproducts when ground.
  • Lazurite: 0-2 Gold Nuggets
  • Cinnabar: 1-3 Redstone Dust

Ore Veins

  • These ores and others can also be found in large veins in various places throughout the world.

Large Lapis Veins

  • Large Lapis Veins can be found in deserts and consist of a cluster of several roughly 3x3x10 tall veins in close proximity.
  • The veins consist of Sandstone Lapis Ore, Gold Ore, and Rough Lazurite Blocks.

Large Emerald Veins

  • Large Emerald Veins can be found in Mountains and consist of random clusters of Andesite Emerald Ore and Rough Emerald Blocks.

Large Cinnabar Veins

  • Large Cinnabar Veins can be found at the very bottom of the world in any overworld biome and spread out like the wires of a machine.
  • These veins consist of Calcite Redstone Ore and Rough Cinnabar Blocks.

Large Coal Veins

  • Large Coal Veins can be found in Swamps and consist of flat, strata-like sheets of coal ore, coal blocks and Smooth Basalt Diamond Ore.

Large Gold Veins

  • Large Gold Veins can be found throughout the nether in random clusters consisting of Nether Gold Ore and Raw Gold Blocks

Rock Salt

  • Underground mineral that generates in stripes and rarely clusters at high elevations in mountainous biomes.

Rock Salt Blocks

  • Craft salt rocks into various building blocks including Polished, Brick, and all the slab and stair variants.
  • Rock Salt can also be used to make a Salt Lamp, a light toggleable by right-click that can be placed on the ground or hung from the ceiling.

Salt Circles

  • Using a Rock Salt crystal on a Grindstone will create Salt Powder, which can be placed like redstone, at which point it becomes impassable to Undead creatures, enabling you to create Salt Circles.
