Nolwar Map Overview

Nolwar Archipelago is cursed to never see summer. This frozen realm sits somewhere in the middle of frozen oceans, offering a unique and atmospheric world to explore. The map is packed with hand-crafted details and realistic terrain that makes exploration feel rewarding.

Geography

The archipelago consists of two islands: Heimlaug and Nolwar. Between them lies the Crystal Sea, accessible only by sailing through the legendary Gates of Nolwar. These massive ice formations resemble an ancient bridge, surrounded by huge ice columns that look like they were carved by nature itself. Some say they were built by an ancient civilization that vanished long ago.

Heimlaug Island

The smaller and warmer of the two islands, Heimlaug is covered in old birch forests with gorgeous snowy mountains in the middle. You’ll find a dormant volcano here, its slopes buried under snow and ice from ages past. The northern coast is particularly striking, known as the Fallen Coast. Centuries ago, it collapsed and now has a completely unique jagged shape that makes for incredible views.

Nolwar Island

Nolwar is bigger and significantly colder than Heimlaug. The centerpiece is the King of Rocks, a massive frozen boulder overgrown with moss and young spruce trees. According to legend, an ancient city called Oium once stood here but was destroyed by a meteor when the gods grew angry at its people.

The warmest area on Nolwar is Caes Valley, surrounded by three mighty highlands: Majestic Tundra, Myvillon, and Nolwar Highlands. On the eastern side, the Icy Xarzith Planes stretch out, so cold that nothing grows there. River Niarh cuts through the island, splitting it into two parts.
