Nightmare Creatures Mod

Nightmare Creatures Mod 1.7.10 places a variety of terrifying and aggressive mobs to your world to make Minecraft more challenging. Many of these mobs are extremely hostile, but some will be tamable. All of them, however, will be very dangerous. The monsters in this mod will take on a variety of themes, from festering undead to wicked demons. Some of these creatures will provide valuable resources, while some exist only to cause grief. This mod is inspired by various movies and video games. Dark Souls, Insidious, and Dying Light are only some of the sources that this mod pulls ideas from.

Features:

Hollows:

  • Vicious, undead soldiers that scour the world for players and villagers. These evil creatures come from the Nether. Do not underestimate them, for they are much smarter than ordinary zombies and skeletons.
  • Current variants include Acolytes, Knights, and Bowmen.

Mulrogs:

  • Large, ape-like beasts that prowl the plains and mountains of the world for prey. Their favorite food is human (and villager) flesh. They heal upon devouring creatures, and gain a nasty buff upon eating players and villagers.
  • Current variants include Shalrogs and Lesser Balrogs, which are tougher, angrier Mulrogs that spawn underground.

Skulkers:

  • Pathetic, undead vermin that spawn in forests and plains. They can cause poison and nausea.
  • Current variants include Jakkers, which are stronger skulkers that attack from a distance.

Koguls:

  • Horrifying, dog-like monsters that hunt in packs. They search for prey in forest and mountain biomes. They also secrete a substance from their fangs that slows their prey down.
  • Current variants include Runts, which are weaker Koguls. These guys have a lighter skin tone, and have a chance of being summoned by a normal Kogul.

Phantasms:

  • These ghosts filled with ink roam the caverns of the world, lost, sad, and hungry for souls. They cause nausea to their victims by simply being near them, and cause blindness upon hitting them.
  • The Nether variant of this mob is the Skoll, which is weaker but appears in greater numbers.
  • Can only be damaged if set on fire

Shudin:

  • Dark, insidious fiends that make their prey weak and slow simply by looking at them. They fear the light, so you will only find them underground.
  • Can only be damaged if set on fire.

Haunted Ones:

  • Horrible poltergeists that are difficult to describe due to their invisibility. The only visible indicator of their presence is smoke. If you hear a high pitched screeching sound and the world suddenly becomes dark, then just run. Only fire can reveal their horrid forms, and they can only spawn in the deeper parts of the world.
  • Can only be damaged if set on fire.

Spiderlings:

  • These young spiders will quickly grow into adults.

Walking Nests:

  • These poor animals have spider eggs injected into them, causing them to house and spawn spiderlings. Their sensitivity to sunlight forces them to live underground.

Driders:

  • These Horrible, venomous spiders will inject their eggs into animals trapped in their webs. As for players and villagers, they can release a terrible venom that is toxic to humanoids. They are found in forests and mountainous areas.

Wersks:

  • These four legged, wormlike creatures only live in the moist caverns below the ground. They quickly spawn Wersklings to overwhelm their victims.
  • Wersklings are a smaller and weaker variant of Wersks.

Fell Troops:

  • These vicious demon soldiers are often found fighting alongside Hollows. They are mainly found in the nether, but they can sometimes be seen in swamps and dark forests.
  • Fell troops become exited upon seeing players and villagers, making them stronger.

Elgurs:

  • These massive demons love to blow things up. It’s best if you keep your distance. They can only be found in the nether.
