MCA Selector Tool for Minecraft 1.19.3 & 1.18.2

Export or delete chunks and regions in Minecraft Java Edition with MCA Selector. Manage your world files effortlessly.

MCA Selector is a handy tool for managing your Minecraft world saves. It lets you export, delete, or modify chunks and regions in Java Edition without booting up the game. This is perfect if you want to clean up old terrain, remove broken chunks, or shrink your world file size.

Always back up your world before using this tool. While it’s safe to use, changes to chunk data are permanent. Make a copy of your world folder first.

What MCA Selector Does

MCA Selector gives you a map view of your world broken down into chunks (16×16 block areas) and regions (32×32 chunks). You can click to select exactly which chunks or regions you want to work with, then export them to a file or delete them.

Key Features

  • Chunk and Region Selection – Pick individual chunks for precise control, or work with whole regions to batch process areas
  • Export Chunks – Pull out specific chunks to save separately or move to another world
  • Delete Chunks – Clean up old terrain, failed projects, or free up space
  • Multi-Dimension Support – Works with the Overworld, Nether, and End
  • Advanced Rendering – Adjust the height level for better visibility, especially in the Nether
  • Save and Load Selections – Export selections to reuse later or share with others

How to Use MCA Selector

Opening Your World

Start the tool and you’ll see an empty map with grid lines. Go to File > Open World and pick your world folder (the one that contains a “region” folder). If you’ve explored multiple dimensions, it’ll ask which one you want to edit.

Navigating the Map

Once your world loads, move around using:

  • Middle mouse button and drag to pan the map
  • WASD or arrow keys to move (hold Shift to move faster)
  • Mouse wheel to zoom in and out
  • Plus and minus keys for zoom control
  • Ctrl+0 to reset zoom to default
  • View > Goto to jump to specific coordinates

Selecting Chunks and Regions

Zoom in and you’ll see individual chunks. Left click to select them, right click to deselect. Drag to select multiple chunks at once. Zoom out and the view switches to region mode with larger grid squares. Same controls apply.

Working with Selections

Once you’ve selected what you want:

  • Selection > Invert to flip your selection
  • Selection > Invert selected regions to invert only affected regions
  • Selection > Export selection to save for later
  • Selection > Import selection to load a saved selection

Rendering Options

The height slider in the top right adjusts what height level the tool renders. This helps in the Nether where you want to see below the ceiling. Find more rendering options in File > Render Settings (press E) to tweak colors, enable cave mode, and change shading.

System Requirements

MCA Selector works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It’s a standalone Java application, so you don’t need Minecraft installed to run it. Just download and point it at your world folder. You’ll need Java on your computer.

The tool supports all Minecraft Java Edition versions, from old worlds up to the latest releases.
