In Minecraft, an illager banner is an item that you can not currently make with a crafting table or loom. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.

Where to find an Illager Banner in Creative Mode

Here is where you can find an illager banner in the Creative Inventory menu:

• Platform is the platform that applies.
• Version(s) is the Minecraft version numbers where the item can be found in the menu location listed (we have tested and confirmed this version number).
• Creative Menu Location is the location of the item in the Creative Inventory menu.

How to get an Illager Banner in Survival Mode

You can add an illager banner to your inventory in Survival mode by killing a Patrol Leader from a Pillager Outpost. So, let’s get started!

1. Find a Pillager Outpost

First, you need to find a Pillager Outpost in Minecraft. A Pillager Outpost is a structure that spawns naturally in the game near a village. Because the Pillager Outpost generates near a village, it can appear in any biome that a village can.

TIP: Try using the /locate command to quickly find a Pillager Outpost!

2. Find the Patrol Leader

The Pillager Outpost is protected by a new mob called the pillager. Once you enter the Outpost, the pillagers will begin attacking you. Kill the pillagers and find the Patrol Leader. The leader is easy to spot because it wears an illager banner on its head.

3. Kill the Patrol Leader and Get the Illager Banner

Once you kill the Patrol Leader, the illager banner will drop on the ground and you can pick it up.

Congratulations, you’ve now learned how to add an illager banner to your inventory.

TIP: You can also get one of the illager banners that are hanging from the top floor of the Watchtower in the Pillager Outpost.

How to craft an Illager Banner in Survival Mode

Currently, you can not craft the Illager Banner in Minecraft using a Loom or a Crafting Table because the Illager Banner requires 8 layered patterns and you can only stack a maximum of 6 patterns in these tables.

However, we have provided the /give command below for the illager banner in Java Edition (this command is not yet possible in Bedrock Edition).
