Extracells 2 Mod

ExtraCells 2 Mod (1.12.2, 1.7.10) is an addon for the popular Applied Energistics 2 mod and seeks to supplement the mod (a complex storage network system that automates crafting processes and much more) in areas where it is still lacking, with a few more useful features, such as fluid storage, considerably larger storage cards, the Blast resistant ME Drive, the Certus Quartz Tank and much more.

ExtraCells 2 Mod (1.12.2, 1.7.10) - Applied Energistics 2 Addon 1

Features:

List of obsolete items:

  • ME Fluid Export Bus
  • ME Fluid Import Bus
  • ME Fluid Storage Bus
  • ME Fluid Terminal
  • ME Fluid Level Emitter
  • ME Fluid Annihilation Plane
  • ME Fluid Formation Plane
  • ME Fluid Interface
  • ME 1k Fluid Storage Cell
  • ME 4k Fluid Storage Cell
  • ME 16k Fluid Storage Cell
  • ME 64k Fluid Storage Cell
  • 1k ME Fluid Storage Component
  • 3k ME Fluid Storage Component
  • 16k ME Fluid Storage Component
  • 64k ME Fluid Storage Component
  • ME Fluid Interface

Fluid Management:

  • Certus Quartz Tank: a tank that can hold 32 buckets of any liquid. Stack Certus Quartz Tanks on top of each other to create a single tank with the combined fluid holding capacity of all of the connected tanks. These tanks can be attached directly to storage networks using fluid buses. If a Certus Quartz Tank is broken with a Nether Quartz Wrench (shift right click) it will keep whatever fluid was inside it.
  • ME Fluid Storage Monitor: a monitor that will display the quantity of a fluid that is stored in your network. Attach the monitor to your network and right click on it with a bucket of any fluid to display the quantity of that fluid stored in your network on the monitor. Right click on the monitor with a Nether Quartz Wrench to lock the monitor so it cannot be changed. While the monitor is unlocked, right click the monitor with an empty hand to clear its display.
  • ME Fluid Conversion Monitor: exactly like the ME Fluid Storage Monitor except while locked, fluid can be taken out of the network by right clicking on the Conversion Monitor with an empty bucket in hand. Additionally, fluid can be put into the network by right clicking on a locked Conversion Monitor with a bucket of fluid in hand.
  • ME Fluid Pattern: used to set the fluid type in configurable AE2 machines. Take a blank ME Fluid Pattern and left click on any fluid in your Fluid Terminal or on a locked Fluid Conversion Monitor in order to consume one bucket of that type of fluid to set the Fluid Pattern. Now you can left click on configurable sections of AE2 machines with the ME Fluid Pattern to set fluid types with it. For example, in an ME Fluid Interface you can set one of the columns to be for water by left clicking on one of the slots with an arrow with the ME Fluid Pattern. Other uses include the Fluid Formation Plane and Fluid Import/Export/Storage Buses.
  • Wireless Fluid Terminal: exactly like the Wireless Terminal except it can be used to access the fluids stored in your network rather than the items. It needs to be linked to your network using a Security Terminal and Wireless Access Points. It also needs to be charged. For some reason the Wireless Charger does not work for Extra Cells 2 Wireless Terminals; you have to use Mekanism Energy Cubes. To take fluids out of the network using the Wireless Fluid Terminal select a fluid and place a bucket in the bottom left slot. Place any bucket of fluid in the bottom left slot to put it into the network.
  • ME Fluid Assembler: similar to the molecular assembler – can be used to autocraft recipes which require buckets of fluids (cake, cobblestone generator, etc). The Fluid Assembler automatically uses fluid stored in your network and does not require any buckets. Unlike the Molecular Assembler, does not have to be adjacent to an interface.
  • ME Fluid Auto Filler: attach anywhere to your network to enable the player to craft buckets of fluids with empty buckets and fluids stored in the network. For example, a network with 100 buckets of water, 100 buckets of lava, and a stack of empty buckets will be able to autocraft a stack of either water or lava buckets which will be placed in the network for the player to retrieve.

Gases:

Extra Cells 2 adds a lot of support for gas storage and transport. Most of the items added are variants of already existing items which were explained in the Items (AE2) or Fluids section. Below is a list of items added by Extra Cells 2 that relate to Gases:

  • ME Gas Import Bus
  • ME Gas Export Bus
  • ME Gas Terminal
  • ME Gas Storage Bus
  • ME Gas Level Emitter
  • ME Gas Storage Monitor
  • ME Gas Conversion Monitor
  • Wireless Gas Terminal

Storage Cells:

Extra Cells adds storage cells for Gas storage, as well as 4 different storage cell sizes that are even larger than the largest AE2 Storage Cell.

New Storage Cell Sizes (Both Items and Fluids):

  • 256k ME Storage Cell
  • 1024k ME Storage Cell
  • 4096k ME Storage Cell
  • 16384k ME Storage Cell (Items Only)

New Gas Storage Cells:

  • ME 1k Gas Storage Cell
  • ME 4k Gas Storage Cell
  • ME 16k Gas Storage Cell
  • ME 64k Gas Storage Cell
  • ME 256l Gas Storage Cell
  • ME 1024k Gas Storage Cell
  • ME 4096k Gas Storage Cell

ME Portable Fluid Storage: like a Fluid Storage cell but its contents can be accessed by right clicking with the Portable Fluid Storage in hand. Can be placed in an ME Drive, Terminal, or Chest to fill with fluids. Then the player can carry it around in their inventory to easily access the fluids stored inside. Needs to be charged. I have tried every method of charging that I know of in the modpack and none of them have worked. The original AE2 charger does work and was probably the intended charger but is not obtainable in survival for some reason.

ME Portable Gas Storage: exactly like the ME Portable Fluid Storage except works with gases.

ME Block Container: this item is currently disabled. Right clicking with it in hand writes the following message across your screen: “Disabled pending rewrite”.

Misc:

  • ME Drive Fixture: a mini ME Drive that can be placed like a Terminal on the side of pipes. Has 6 slots for ME Storage Cells instead of 8, but up to 5 ME Drive Fixtures can be placed in a one block space. Still has the energy requirements of the ME Drive.
  • ME Energy Cell Fixture: documentation says that this is a version of the Energy Cell but as a fixture (can be applied as a panel to the side of pipes). I have not been able to get this item to do anything at all.
  • ME Ore Dictionary Export Bus: an Export Bus which allows you to filter by Ore Dictionary. Attach it anywhere in your network. Right click on the Export Bus and type the name of any Ore Dictionary (the Ore Dictionary of a block can be seen by holding shift while hovering your mouse over an item in your inventory). Then hit save. All blocks or items which are a part of the Ore Dictionary will be pulled from the network into the inventory adjacent to the Ore Dictionary Export Bus.
  • Wireless Universal Terminal: exactly like the Wireless Fluid Terminal except can be used to access all parts of your network. Shift right click with the Wireless Universal Terminal in hand to change its mode; your choices are item, fluid, and gas.
  • ME Upgrades: a crossover between AE2 and OpenComputers. ME Upgrades can be placed into OpenComputers drones and robots to connect them to your system. There are three tiers; Tier 1: 0.5x access point range; Tier 2: access point range; Tier 3: infinite range, multidimensional
  • Walrus: a walrus… I am not sure why. But now you can have a walrus in your world. Yay. It isn’t very talkative and it doesn’t move much though.
  • Blast Resistant ME Drive: an ME Drive which cannot be destroyed by explosions. In order to balance this, the Blast Resistant ME Drive can only hold 3 Storage Cells rather than the normal 10.
  • Fluid Vibration Chamber: intended to be able to generate energy using lava. It does not seem to be working right now.
