Deepslate bricks are a solid building block you can craft from polished deepslate. They came out with the Caves & Cliffs update and work great for decorating deepslate structures or creating a modern underground base aesthetic.

What You Need to Craft Deepslate Bricks

You’ll need 4 polished deepslate to make a batch of deepslate bricks. That’s it. You get 4 deepslate bricks from one crafting recipe, so the ratio is 1:1.

Getting Polished Deepslate

Polished deepslate comes from crafting regular deepslate blocks. You need 4 deepslate in a 2×2 square in your crafting table to make 4 polished deepslate. Deepslate spawns naturally in the deep underground, usually below Y level 0.

How to Craft Deepslate Bricks

Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table

Place down a crafting table and interact with it to open the 3×3 crafting grid.

Step 2: Add the Materials

Place your 4 polished deepslate blocks in a 2×2 square pattern. Put one in the top-left, one in the top-middle, one in the middle-left, and one in the middle-middle of the crafting grid. The exact pattern matters.

Step 3: Grab Your Bricks

You’ll see 4 deepslate bricks appear in the output slot. Click them to pick them up and move them to your inventory.

Creative Mode Location

If you’re in Creative Mode, you can find deepslate bricks in the Building Blocks tab of the creative inventory. They’re available in Minecraft Java Edition versions 1.17 through 1.19.4.

Command to Get Deepslate Bricks

In Java Edition, use this command to instantly get deepslate bricks:

/give @p deepslate_bricks 1

This gives you 1 deepslate brick. Change the number at the end to grab more.

What to Build with Deepslate Bricks

Deepslate bricks are just one part of the deepslate building family. You can also craft and use:

  • Cracked deepslate bricks (smelt them in a furnace)
  • Deepslate brick stairs
  • Deepslate brick slabs
  • Deepslate brick walls
  • Deepslate tiles

They all use deepslate bricks as a base material, so once you’ve got a stack of bricks, you can mix and match to build detailed underground structures with varied textures.
