Deep Dark Biome Wiki Guide

This Minecraft tutorial explains the Deep Dark biome with screenshots.

In Minecraft, you will spawn into worlds with unique weather, animals, and plants. These regions are known as biomes. Let’s explore the Deep Dark biome in Minecraft.

Background

In Minecraft, the Deep Dark is a biome in the Overworld that was introduced in the Wild Update. You need to dig deep underground to find this one! This dimly lit and eerie biome will strike fear into the hearts of even the most brave player. It is the darkest biome in the game and the floor of the Deep Dark is covered in sculk. No mobs spawn in the Deep Dark, except for the Warden. And don’t forget to be careful around the sculk shriekers.

Deep Dark Biome - Wiki Guide 8

The Warden is blind and can not see anything, so it uses vibrations to navigate and identify targets. The Warden is awakened by sculk shriekers and has two different attack styles – melee attack and ranged attack. The Warden is the only mob that can spawn in the Deep Dark and it is the protector of the Ancient City.

Ancient City

In the Deep Dark biome, you can find a new structure called the Ancient City that looks like the one below:

Deep Dark Biome - Wiki Guide 9

The Ancient City is a long-abandoned structure found underground in the Deep Dark biome. Wander its halls to uncover some relics long forgotten. There are many chests to loot and hidden secrets to be found, as well as the new Swift Sneak enchantment and Darkness status effect.
